  • We offer mediation to all types of family law cases including high conflict mediation. Mediation topics can include child(ren) only; property and financial; or all issues of a divorce/legal separation.

  • We’ve helped family members find a resolution to all different kinds of conflict that don’t necessarily fit into one of the other categories identified herein. Sometimes families need help determining how best to care for an aging loved one, how jointly owned property should be handled, conflict in family business, and more.

  • Mediation within schools is a valuable alternate dispute resolution for both parents and schools. Our experienced mediators can help you work with your child’s school to identify issues, discuss viewpoints and generate workable solutions. We can facilitate the creation of an effective and unique Individualized Education Plan (IEP) by serving as a valuable team member and working closely with your child’s school professionals.

  • Controversies at the workplace can be life-altering for many reasons. The costs of litigating a matter involving an employment conflict can escalate quickly and rarely in litigation is the heart of the issue really addressed. Mediation is a much better option to assist an employer and an employee (or two employees) find a resolution. We have worked with both employers and employees to reach an agreement based upon issues involving allegations over workplace issues including termination, hostile work environment, compensation, and interpersonal conflict.

  • Guardianships & Estates

Probate mediations are necessary when people cannot come to an agreement as to who should serve as a loved one’s guardian and or conservator.  We also work with heirs to determine resolutions to disputes over how property should be divided after a loved one passes.

  • Encouraging clients to have an open discussion with their loved ones about their planning is key to preventing future conflict about their estate plan. Our goal in estate planning mediation is to obtain honest answers from intended beneficiaries about their hopes for the estate plan and to assist the estate planner in both communicating their estate plan wishes and goals and ensuring that the estate documents reflect the same. We discuss potential disputes and plans in hopes of avoiding them. These topics can include who will run the family business, why someone is not included in any or a portion of someone’s estate plan and who gets prized collections or heirlooms.

  • We are proud to be the only ones in Nebraska to offer collaborative mediation. Collaborative mediation still includes your McGill mediator, but in collaborative mediation, the parties are agreeing that they are going to work to find a resolution without the assistance of the court using their collaborative team. We do this by bringing key advisors to the table to help the parties understand, learn and make well educated decisions. Those other professionals can be coaches, other attorneys, mental health therapists, CPA’s, business valuators, mortgage specialists, and/or Financial Advisors. We have worked hard to create a network of top-notch local professionals to assist our clients find resolutions.
